Kentucky Derby Girls...
In honor of the Ussery girl's home state, we had a Kentucky Derby party while we were in Utah. It was a special day because Rissy met her Great-Grandma Witzke for the first time.

Rissy with her Great-Grandma Down
There must of been a memo about mom's dinner rolls because all six of my siblings showed up.
James had a little jet lag here.
I would rather eat at a Derby Girl lunch than at the most expensive restaurant in town, the food is that good!
Aunt Cathy and Brynlee.

There were no thoroughbreds, however, there was plenty of homemade bread. What a beautiful Derby day at "the Downs!"

Bananas For Nana's
The pantry is James's secret spot at my parent's house.
Those bare feet probably aren't the most sanitary thing to have around food...shhhh...don't tell the Surgeon General.
Thanks for letting my son be his monkey self all week! Love you all!

Thoughts From A Really Nice Weekend...
Some of the things I love are faith, family, nature, and Fridays...
I am most relaxed when my son is having a play-date with a chimpanzee.
We have to take advantage of any impromptu dates. When the kids fall asleep in the stroller we pull over for a picnic and parent talk.
I've turned into my mother...spending my fun money on flowers and planting them while my babies play half dressed on blankets.
Fruit and veggies are my caffeine. Endorphins are my drug of choice. Chocolate keeps my calorie count in check.
Our yard is all summerized. As I sat on the porch swing I thought about how I wish some family would fly in to enjoy my hard work and homemade cooking...Hint hint:) XOXO, Jess
