After our little vacay, we drove to the Navajo Nation of Kayenta for John to get down to biznass. It wasn't quite as blissful as the Grand Canyon (picture scary stray dogs, a sleepless seven month old, and a serious strain of food poisoning) but it was still an adventure and the above scenery made it all worth it.
Here is John in his work clothes. I love a man in uniform.
We gave James baths everyday to wear him out at the hotel. As long as this boy is fed, changed, and entertained he is one happy baby.
The background looks fake but this is the real deal folks.
We kinda drove this road loads since the reservation wasn't really rockin.
This is the new hotel located right in the park.. Every room has a balcony with an incredible view.. hence the name, The View. I could get used to waking up to this scenery every morning. We didn't stay here but James and I pretended we did and hung out in the lobby a good hour enjoying the chic decor.
I am kind of falling for the dessert. It is so majestic and it radiates energy that makes me want to run around and shout... and sometimes I do.
Spring time is definitely the time to head down here. The weather was perfect and the wild flowers and green grass juxtaposed against red rock rocked my socks!
Did anyone watch Modern Family last week when they went to Hawaii? The mom says, "when you have kids it's not a vacation, it's a business trip"...That cracked me up! Being on the road with a little tyke doesn't allow for much R&R.
I am loving having a travel buddy to read historical markers and go museum hopping with and John's pretty elated that he doesn't have to anymore.
Nice to meet ya, Monument Valley. You're scenery was SUBLIME!

I really think that you should be paid for all your tourism postings. I can't wait to see what you can do with Myrtle Beach someday. I am just too lazy lying by the pool to get up and take a picture!
Beautiful! Such gorgeous pics. Love your travel logs! They make me want to visit those places. Like your mom said, you need to be paid for this! :)
Your little guy is so cute! I can't believe how big he is getting and I have not even officially met him! We will have to get together when I am home next.
I feel like I'm watching the Jessica Travel Network. I am so envious. I'm envious that you are in your 20's and full of energy. I'm envious that you get to go with your husband on business trips and make it fun with your cute James. I'm envious that you are so artistic and fabulous in your presentation of all that is beautiful in this world. Thanks for sharing so much of your world with us. My world is brighter because of it!
