Mr. President, I Move a Motion....

To change the name of morning sickness to 24/7 sickness.  All in favor say, blahhh.  (Someone please assure me this isn't going to last forever, I seem to have forgotten!)

Maybe it's because my stomach has already been pre-stretched from James, but this time I am showing much sooner.  I know it is mostly a food baby in there since he/she is no bigger than a kumquat.  But eating around the clock helps with the nausea.  So bring it on second round of sixty pound weight gain.  I am armed and ready with my work-out videos come September.  Just let my baby be happy, healthy, but hopefully not too huge:)

Belated V-Day

Yesterday all our mail came that was on hold from our vacation.  Usually we just get lots of Pottery Barn catalogs and boring bills so I was elated to see several Valentine's.  I felt humbled and loved to have such sweet friends and family who haven’t forgotten us even though we are far away.   It made me cry.  Thanks for sending so much love (and yummy chocolate;) our way.
Also, thanks for everyone’s constant sweet comments, calling to check up on me when I am mia for a week in cyberspace, and sharing our excitement of our baby news.
Sorry to make this mushy, but I really am so grateful for everyone who reads, comments, etc.
Happy hump day!
XOXO,
Jess

I'm a fan of this thing called family...

Nightly prayers and kisses
Cuddling to Disney movies
Bike rides
Occasional co-sleeping
Greeting daddy at the door every night after work
Sam’s Club trips
Legos in the Living room
Dinner time toasts
Reading books together in bed
Baths
Road trips
Eating Death by Chocolate ice-cream on the couch (the leather, not the white linen one;)
Playing hide-and-seek sixteen times a day
Erupting in laughter together
Evening strolls

Three...Two...One...

Blast off!  James and I spent the day at the Nasa Space museum this week.  I love this place and always leave inspired by our world and the minds that took us to the moon.
These are actual rocks from a lunar landing.  So cool.
Have I mentioned how much I love being a mommy and being able to go to museums in the middle of the week.   Missing the crowds makes museums all the more magical and allows much more time for moon landing meditation.
When the astronauts first went to space they didn't have hand-held calculators and the engineers had to do all mathematical problems with a pencil and paper.  Crazy.  I don't know if I would have survived college without my trusty calculator.
It is easy for me to forget that space is such an infinite, incredible place.  Thanks NASA. It was nice to be reminded.

My favorite part of the day though was coming home with a new appreciation of my hubbie's hot mathematical mind. What can I say, I am ga ga for my guy in glasses and this little man who takes me to the moon.

Wish I was there to tell you in person...

I am lucky to be stuck in the middle of these two.  Heather is exactly 18 months older and Andy is 18 months younger.  I hope you both have perfect Birthdays.  Love you!

Grandpa Gregory

On Wednesday we rushed up to Oklahoma because John’s dad wasn’t doing well.  He has had cancer for ten years and took a turn for the worst.  He was able to get some procedures done and his body has taken to them well so we are hoping he will be around for a good while longer.  It was nice to be able to visit and help John’s mom.
James loves visiting his grandparents.  Case in point, when we pulled into our house last night, he started bawling for grandma's house.  Our house just doesn't compare.
James liked going on spins around the hospital in Grandpa’s wheel chair.  We got lots of sympathy stares from people around the hospital.  It made me want to push James around in a wheel chair when I go to the grocery store.  I think it would make some of the glares soften if he looked like a cancer patient when he acts crazy.  Just kidding...kinda;)

James with his Grandma Gregory
John’s dad is staying at Mercy, a hospital run by nuns.  I liked that there was lots of art work as a reminder of Christ. There seemed to be more of a spirit of hope than any other hospital I have visited.

I am lucky to have married into Oklahoma sunsets.  They  really are some of the best I've seen.
Tim and Catie's cute new baby, Layla.
James is always in heaven when there are cousins around.
John’s dad seemed very close to the Savior.  He is a good example to me and made me want to strengthen my relationship with Christ.  John’s mom is also a saint.  She has been staying at the hospital around the clock and is living on very little sleep.  I hope that I can be like her in so many ways someday.

Mike and Carla, we love you both and hope Grandpa Gregory keeps feeling better.   We would love to have you come and visit soon.
XOXO, Jessica John and James.

Pitter Patter...

Feeling lucky to be a play-at-home mom, pouncing in puddles instead of pushing papers:)
